We just got a look at the forecast for this week here in Marathon, Florida and it looks too good to be true! With minimal humidity, easy winds, temperatures in the low 80’s and sunshine forecasted for the rest of the week it is truly a great time to be in paradise.
Though Friday might show us a few intermittent cooling rain spells, today through Thursday is the perfect time to explore all that our beautiful Marathon hotel has to offer– whether it’s water sports, beach activities, fishing charters or just hanging out by the pool, we know that you and your family are bound to have a fantastic time this week.
Be sure to ask our front desk agents here at Tranquility Bay to recommend some activities that would best suit you and your family’s needs. We’re here to help!
We’re looking at a hot weekend ahead of us here at Tranquility Bay Hotel & Resort, with temperatures in the low 80’s from tomorrow through Sunday. The partial clouds that have been hanging around are forecasted to continue their loitering, which means it’s a great time to get out on the water without the threat of blazing overhead sun (and those subsequent blazing sunburns!)
Rain is forecasted at a low 30% which means partial, intermittent showers might show up between today and Saturday, while Sunday looks to be mostly clear.
As always, please remember to coat yourselves and your loved ones with a high SPF, drink plenty of water and spend your nights at the tiki bar (that last one isn’t as much a recommendation as how we plan on spending our weekend.)
Another day in paradise.
If it wasn’t so beautiful, it might get a little boring. All those perfectly warm, sunny days…. the endless crystalline waters…the vibrant sunsets that bathe our beach in pinks and reds… really, how much constant perfection can you take?
We know the answer: a lot.
This weekend we’re looking forward to more of the same: temperatures in the high 70’s to low 80’s, low winds out on the water and a brief chance of cooling rain sometime tomorrow. A great weekend to spend by the pool, out on the beach or zipping through the ocean on one of our JetSkis.
It’s a rough life, but someone has to do it. (Luckily this weekend that someone is you.)
Swing by the front desk here at Tranquility Bay if you need anything– we’re always happy to help.
Enjoy the weekend!
We love posting the weekend forecast a few days early here at Tranquility Bay…somehow looking at Saturday’s projected sunny skies seems to draw it a little bit closer to us here on a Wednesday afternoon.
And boy, is that forecast a good one.
This week’s clear, sunny weather is expected to improve (if that’s even possible!) to near-perfect conditions, with temperatures rising from the mid-70’s to hover in the low 80’s, humidity expected to remain minimal, and winds peaking at a breezy 10mph.
This is the quintessential beach weather we look forward to all year– a relief from the scorching temperatures we braved all summer, and the perfect chance to get out on the water or relax by the ocean.
Pack a beach bag, throw on your flip flops and meet us down by the pool. This weekend we encourage you to try all the things you’ve dreamed of trying on vacation. Maybe go jet-skiing, or sailing, or have one of our front desk agents arrange a fishing charter for you and your family.. or maybe just continue your quest to try every drink at TJ’s Tikki Bar.
It’s important to have goals, even on vacation.
Before now, “Sandy” was just our favorite lovable dog from the Broadway show Annie. (Cue the lights; begin the high-pitched singing of “The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow.) But right now, the Sandy we’re dealing with isn’t a lovable mutt; it’s a tropical storm. Luckily, we hardly ever get totally clobbered by hurricanes here in the Keys– our friends in the Bahamas are rarely as lucky– so the most we’re looking at over the next few days is some rain and gusty winds. That means that today is a great day to grab the kids and get out on the water or beach, soak up a little sunshine and maybe pick up a board game or two (just in case) for the weekend.
The forecast over the next three days calls for sporadic rain, winds in the high 20’s and low 30’s, and temperatures in the mid-80 degree range, with skies clearing up by Sunday and sunny skies forecasted for the following week.
If you need recommendations for great places to take the kids on a rainy day, don’t hesitate to ask our front desk agents here at Tranquility Bay! They’d be happy to recommend a variety of places that are only a short drive from our Marathon hotel.
That perfect (or near-perfect) fall weather we’ve been patiently waiting for has seemingly arrived here in Marathon, bringing sunny days, calm winds and cooler nights– the perfect weather for spending the day at the pool and a night on the porch, enjoying the breeze. We’re setting up water adventures left and right…from jet-skiing to parasailing, now is the best time of the year to get out on the water for some sun & fun. Stop by the front desk here at Tranquility Bay Hotel & Resort and have one of our friendly front desk agents help you arrange the perfect outdoor activity! We know you come to our beautiful Marathon hotel to have fun, relax and really unwind, so now’s your chance to make sure you’re getting the most out of your vacation with us.
This week’s temperatures look to be holding at about 85 degrees, with nighttime temperatures cooling off to a pleasant 75 degrees or so. The chance of rain is forecasted to hover at about 20% this week (a nice respite from this summer’s near constant threat of thunderstorms!) and we’re celebrating with a nice tropical drink down at TJ’s Tikki Bar.
Anyone want to join us?
In most places, the end of summer signifies a deep depression coupled with the arrival of worse weather. Here in the Keys, however, we love when fall is near; not only does it mean hurricane season is almost at an end, but it signifies the opening of a season of drier, less heartbreakingly-humid days and the return of all our tourist friends! Summer can be a bit of a lull around here, and we’re excited to get back to swingin’ fall and all its glory.
The transitional period can be a bit tricky, however, with the weather doing its best to keep us guessing. Rain clouds are scheduled to stick around this week, with intermittent sunshine throughout. Today and tomorrow look especially wet, with scheduled thunderstorms looking to come to a head by Tuesday afternoon and clear off for a bit of sun on Wednesday. Temperatures should hover in the manageable mid-80’s (we can’t say we’re sorry to see those 92-degree days go away!) and seas are expected to maintain a bit of a chop, with winds coming in between 8 and 12mph all week.
Have fun out there, be safe, and we’ll see you at the Tiki Bar!
It looks like the on-and-off rain we’ve been seeing around here is going to continue throughout the rest of the week. The forecast for the next 7 days is calling for scattered thunderstorms through Sunday, with intermittent periods of sunshine throughout the week. That means temperatures will continue to hover in the mid-80’s, a nice respite from the scorching heat we’ve been having all month!
Reasonably high winds at the beginning of the week are expected to slow a little towards the weekend, so start planning that fishing charter you’ve been thinking about. In the meantime, there’s plenty to do in Marathon when a little rain comes our way. Stop by the front desk for some family-friendly rainy day activity ideas!
It’s shaping up to be a typically tropical week here in Marathon, with temperatures hovering around the high 80’s and low 90’s and the humidity staying high through Sunday. There’s a good chance we’ll see some rain on Thursday, with the chance of precipitation coming down to a reasonable 30% for the rest of the week/end. Tomorrow’s seas look a little rougher than what’s been forecasted for the weekend– though it’s going to be worth braving the choppy waves to get a little respite from this hot & humid weather!
As always, try to protect yourself and your loved ones from the sun’s harshest rays by wearing a high SFP, reapplying often, and- whenever possible- staying out of direct sun between the hours of 10am and 2pm. We hate to see a set of crispy shoulders ruin someone’s vacation!
We’re giving ourselves a little pat on the back today for making AOL’s slideshow of some of the most amazing hotel balconies in the world….and if you’ve ever sat and enjoyed a sunset over the Gulf from one of our balconies, you’ll probably agree: it truly is a spectacular view. (We’re a bit partial, we know.)
