We’re looking at a hot weekend ahead of us here at Tranquility Bay Hotel & Resort, with temperatures in the low 80’s from tomorrow through Sunday. The partial clouds that have been hanging around are forecasted to continue their loitering, which means it’s a great time to get out on the water without the threat of blazing overhead sun (and those subsequent blazing sunburns!)
Rain is forecasted at a low 30% which means partial, intermittent showers might show up between today and Saturday, while Sunday looks to be mostly clear.
As always, please remember to coat yourselves and your loved ones with a high SPF, drink plenty of water and spend your nights at the tiki bar (that last one isn’t as much a recommendation as how we plan on spending our weekend.)
We know that some people come to Tranquility Bay to get away from all the hustle and bustle that the holidays usually bring. Others love the idea of exchanging gifts under a blazing sunset instead of a tinsel-covered tree, or lighting their menorah on the beach instead of in their living room back home. Whatever your reason, we’re always excited when families choose to spend their holidays with us.
With our competitive Marathon hotel prices (and our competitively beautiful beach) we offer a welcome respite from the craziness back home– whether it’s avoiding a snowstorm or your nosey in-laws that’s got you thinking about joining us this holiday season, we’ve got you covered.
Call our reservations department today and find out how easy it is to get away this holiday season. We’ll guarantee you a peaceful, happy holiday filled with great food, drinks and the white sand beach you’ve been dreaming of. We’ll even throw in a couple heart-stopping sunsets (tinsel not included.)
Call (855) 606-4502 and speak to one of our agents today.
The water might be getting colder here in Marathon but the fishing is heating up by the day!
We’re loving the high numbers of sailfish being pulled in by offshore charters recently…those mighty fish really do pack an incredible fight. Equally impressive are the large kingfish being hooked, as well as some big sharks (always a terrifying battle!) and even the occasional blackfin tuna, that elusive prize. While the recent high winds have made it tricky to find a perfect day to get out on the water, we’re hopeful that this week will be calmer than last.
Reef & flats fishing is, as always, excellent in November– you’d be hard pressed to find an area without an abundance of snapper species ready to bite.
Our front desk agents here at Tranquility Bay are always happy to help you select the fishing charter that best fits your needs. Whether it’s a full day out on the water with your family or a last minute shared seat on someone else’s boat, let our Marathon hotel employees lend their expertise. We’re sure you won’t be disappointed.
There’s big event coming this week and we know you can’t wait to attend.
No, not that big event.
We’re talking about one with a little less turkey and more… naughty grandmothers.
Specifically: The Marathon Community Theatre’s imminent show, Nana’s Naughty Knickers, opening the 23rd of November.
Bring the family to this hilarious play which follows one wide-eyed granddaughter and her lingerie selling, laughter inducing grandmother– who just happens to be running an illegal lingerie business out of her apartment. Root for Nana as she avoids eviction (and arrest!) and fall in love right alongside her granddaughter, Bridget, whose police officer love interest threatens to undo the whole operation!
This hysterical romp is limited to just a few performances, so get your tickets now before they’re all sold out. For more information, visit http://www.marathontheater.org/ or call the box office at 305-743-0994. Remember: our front desk agents here at Tranquility Bay are always happy to assist you in booking any activities around Marathon that you or your family might want to attend. Just swing by the front desk and let us know!
Another day in paradise.
If it wasn’t so beautiful, it might get a little boring. All those perfectly warm, sunny days…. the endless crystalline waters…the vibrant sunsets that bathe our beach in pinks and reds… really, how much constant perfection can you take?
We know the answer: a lot.
This weekend we’re looking forward to more of the same: temperatures in the high 70’s to low 80’s, low winds out on the water and a brief chance of cooling rain sometime tomorrow. A great weekend to spend by the pool, out on the beach or zipping through the ocean on one of our JetSkis.
It’s a rough life, but someone has to do it. (Luckily this weekend that someone is you.)
Swing by the front desk here at Tranquility Bay if you need anything– we’re always happy to help.
Enjoy the weekend!
Did you know that our on-site restaurant, The Butterfly Cafe, does an incredible Thanksgiving Day spread?
Never mind the fact that it’s the highest rated restaurant in Marathon…we’ve just got two words for you: No clean-up.
With all the classic dishes you remember– and a few new ones we’re sure you’ll love– Thanksgiving dinner at The Butterfly Cafe is the perfect way to sit back, relax and enjoy the holiday with your loved ones without any of the usual stress and mess. And with seating as early as 3:00pm you’ll have plenty of time to get back home before the post-turkey sleepiness kicks in.
This Thanksgiving, why not give Mom a break and treat her to an incredible gourmet holiday feast– we’ll provide the sumptuous spread, tropical atmosphere and we’ll even do the dishes afterwards.
To book your reservation for Thanksgiving day, call 305-289-7177.
And if you could, please save some of the sweet potatoes for us– they’re our favorite.
When you live someplace tropical, anything less than 85 degrees can feel a little chilly. This weekend, we’re throwing on a cozy sweater before we head out on the water. It appears that winter may have finally arrived here in the Keys– or at least, the later days of autumn. In any case, the sweltering temperatures we felt a few weeks ago have been replaced with cooler, crisper weather that makes us want to go exploring outside (and by exploring, we mean fishing. Definitely.)
The forecast for this weekend looks good, with party cloudy skies throughout and temperatures in the mid-to-high 70’s range. Sunday looks to be the hottest, so if you’re deciding on which day might be best for lazing by the pool or beach, that’s our pick.
Winds are expected to stay in their currently gusty state, with gusts of up to 20mph expected by Sunday. (Perhaps not the best weekend to go sailing if you’re not a bit adventurous.)
As always, stop by the front desk at Tranquility Bay if you need suggestions for fun activities for you and your family.
Here’s the weather roundup:
We’re thrilled that Costal Living magazine has chosen to feature Tranquility Bay as part of its “Fabulous Villa Vacations” spread, located in their current issue on stands now! We’ve always know that Tranquility Bay was fabulous, but it’s always nice to have a little outside recognition. Check out these photos now and revel in smug self-assuredness: you chose the right Fabulous Villa Vacation when you chose to stay with us.
November is truly a fantastic time to fish here in the Keys. The arrival of cooler water temperatures signifies a really exciting time for flats, patch reef and deep sea fishing, with some excellent species showing up almost dockside. You can practically walk into the water and catch something fantastic with your own two hands.
As swarms of baitfish push out onto the patch reef areas, pulled by the cooler water, they’re followed by some magnificent mangrove snapper, grouper, mackerel, yellowtails and more. You don’t have to go far out to catch these beauties! And a day of reef fishing is one of the more relaxing and enjoyable activities we can think of.
Farther out, the deep sea fishing takes a dramatic turn with the arrival of blackfin tuna, whose numbers really swell beginning this month. Great numbers of sailfish, wahoo and cobia also abound, so an afternoon of trolling can definitely result in some nice hauls this time of year.
Whatever your fancy, whatever fillet you plan on bringing home– just get out there! Speak to one of our front desk agents here at Tranquility Bay; they’ll be more than happy to help you find your way out onto the water.
